Officers at Yorktown Police Headquarters received a trespassing complaint at approximately 5:45 p.m. on June 24 from the private beach, which led to an investigation, which led to the arrest of a beach manager who allegedly locked several members inside a gate.

According to police, the investigation found that the 52-year-old beach manager - whose name has not been released - engaged in a dispute with several beach members over their use of the beach. He then went on to allegedly change the lock to the beach access fence, locking them in the beach area against their will and without a way to leave.

Police said that following the investigation, the beach members wished to press charges against the beach manager, who was arrested at the scene. The manager was charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful imprisonment and released on his own recognizance following processing. The beach manager is due back in court on July 24 to answer the charge.
